Holland America Line casinos
Holland America's casinos are smaller and calmer than the mega-ship floors. Its free Players Club earns at a published rate, then rewards players with private offers and invitations.

On the casino floor
Every Holland America ship has a casino with slots from a penny up, video poker, blackjack with progressive side bets (A jackpot that keeps growing as people play the linked games, until someone wins it.), craps, roulette, Heads Up Hold 'Em and Three Card Prime. Several ships had their casinos enlarged in 2025 and 2026 dry docks.
Record jackpot
A guest on Oosterdam won $134,860 on a Dollar Storm machine in 2025, the biggest slot jackpot in the line's history.
Hours
Slots can stay open overnight at sea and close 30 minutes before arrival. Tables close while the ship is docked. Learn-to-play classes have ended; dealers teach at empty tables instead.
Expansions
Oosterdam (2025), then Westerdam, Koningsdam and Rotterdam (2026) all gained casino space in dry dock. Rotterdam added about 20 slot machines.
Holland America Players Club
The Holland America Players Club is free, and you join the first time you put your card in a machine or hand it to a dealer. Offers, comps and the match program run through Ocean Players Club, the casino system Carnival Corporation's brands share. There are no published points tiers.

What a "free" cabin still costs
Casino offers are for residents of the US, DC and Canada who are 18 or older, and cover the first two guests in the cabin. You still pay required cruise fees and taxes (Holland America quotes roughly $110 to $1,535), plus a $100 per person non-refundable deposit that comes back as onboard credit (Money added to your cruise account to spend on board, for example on drinks, dining or the spa. It usually can't be withdrawn as cash.), up to $200 a cabin. New players who live in the US and are 21 or older can apply through the Holland America Match; replies take about 7 business days.

Good to know before you play
- HoursOpen only in international waters. Slots may run overnight, and tables close in port.
- PayingCash is accepted, and you can charge play to your cabin account or use a Player Bank. Holland America doesn't publish fees or limits, and your card issuer may treat charges as a cash advance (A card charge your bank treats like a cash withdrawal. Many card issuers add a fee and charge interest straight away.) (reported).
- Age18 and over to gamble, 21 to drink. A 21+ rule for Alaska appears only on third-party sites, so confirm before you sail.
- SmokingThe Noordam and Zuiderdam casinos are smoke-free. On the other nine ships, active players may smoke in designated areas. Cigars and pipes aren't allowed indoors.
- Mariner SocietyCasino charges and cash advances don't count toward the Mariner Society onboard-spend bonus, and casino offers are tied to your Mariner ID.
What's changed recently
- Oosterdam expansion. 34 new slots and a digital table game in the former Gallery Bar.
- Westerdam enlarged. Casino expanded during its Singapore dry dock.
- Wynn partnership ends. Wynn Rewards moved its cruise partnership from Holland America to MSC.
- Koningsdam and Rotterdam. Both casinos expanded in dry dock. Rotterdam added about 20 slots.
- Arcadia announced. P&O's Arcadia joins in 2029, making 12 ships. No casino plans announced yet.
