Norwegian casino offers, explained

Casinos At Sea Rewards members can turn play into a discount or a free fare with Points to Paradise, receive a Casino Cruise Certificate, or buy CASNext deposit certificates with points. Here's how each one works, what you can combine them with, and what you still pay.

Short answer

Norwegian has three casino rewards that lead to a cruise. Points to Paradise turns the points from one sailing into $250 off, $500 off or a free cruise fare, booked within 90 days. A Casino Cruise Certificate is a complimentary cruise for the named player and one guest, with the sailing details printed on the certificate. CASNext certificates are bought with points and work as a deposit on a future booking.

None of them is a fully free trip. You still pay an administration fee of $20 per person per day, government taxes, port expenses and fees, and the daily service charge. You must be 21 to join Casinos At Sea Rewards and to use its offers.

Terms with a dotted underline are explained when you tap or select them.

How offers arrive

Norwegian doesn't publish a single list of the ways casino offers reach you, and it has no online page where members can look up their points or offers. What its own pages do say:

  • From the sailing you're onPoints to Paradise is based on the points you earn on the current cruise, and the offer can be redeemed starting five days after the sailing ends.
  • On a certificateA Casino Cruise Certificate lists your specific cruise details. NCL's certificate page lets you submit a booking request or ask for a phone call.
  • As a program benefit"Exclusive Offers and Invites" is listed among the Casinos At Sea Rewards benefits that apply across all three brands.
  • By text messageCasinos At Sea runs an opt-in text program for promotions and events: text PLAY to 44717. NCL's terms say it's for US residents aged 18 or older, though using the offers still takes 21.
  • On boardYou sign up at the Casino Host Desk, and it's where NCL tells you to ask about Points to Paradise and CASNext.

The Casino Cruise Certificate page also shows "Certificate Reservations" at 1-877-794-8567, a different number from the Certificate Redemption line, and says the best time to call is Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern. NCL's casino page sends new players to casinosatsea.com for its "First Cruise On The House" land-casino match; that site didn't load for us on October 21, 2026, so we can't describe it. Our matches guide covers how matches work in general, and the casino accounts guide covers keeping your contact details current so offers reach you.

Points to Paradise

Points to Paradise turns the points you earn on one sailing into a reward toward a future Norwegian cruise. The levels are shown on NCL's Points to Paradise page as a banner image rather than in the page text.

Points earned on the cruiseRewardSame play by NCL's earning rates
500$250 off your next cruise$2,500 on slots, or $5,000 on video poker
1,000$500 off your next cruise$5,000 on slots, or $10,000 on video poker
2,000Complimentary cruise fare on a 3- to 14-night sailing$10,000 on slots, or $20,000 on video poker

The last column is our arithmetic from Casinos At Sea's rates of 1 point per $5 on reel and video slots and 1 per $10 on video poker. It's the total wagered, not what you'd lose; table-game points depend on your average bet, time and game. For the expected cost of that play, see what a free casino cruise really costs.

  • Current cruise only"Offer is valid for points earned during the current cruise." Points from earlier sailings don't count toward it.
  • Booking windowRedeemable from five days after the sailing. You must book within 90 days and sail within one year of receiving the offer.
  • Whose bookingThe $250 and $500 discounts apply to the reservation of the guest who received the offer.
  • Free fareMust be booked through Casinos At Sea or your independent casino representative. NCL doesn't say on the page which stateroom category it covers or whether it includes a second guest, so ask when you book.
  • Once onlyEach offer can be redeemed once, on a new reservation, one offer per reservation.
  • UpgradesAllowed, but you pay the price difference between the offered stateroom and the upgrade.
  • LimitsCapacity controlled; holiday and peak blackout dates may apply. Not for guests in the Friends and Family program, charter sailings, certain group types, or bookings through NCL's CE or UK offices. Must be booked in US dollars.

Casino Cruise Certificates

A Casino Cruise Certificate (Norwegian's casino comp from Casinos At Sea: a complimentary cruise for the named player and one guest, with the sailing details printed on the certificate.) is a complimentary cruise from Casinos At Sea. NCL doesn't publish who receives one or how much play it takes; the cruise details, including the sailings and stateroom, are on the certificate itself.

What it covers

"A complimentary cruise for two (one player and one guest)." The certificate is for the cruise fare and/or a discount, and isn't a form of payment for any other services, fees or expenses. NCL also lists the usual casino perks on board, such as drinks while you play and reward points you can redeem.

Who sails

The named player and one guest. The named player or a Casinos At Sea member must be on board for the sailing, or Norwegian charges the full cruise fare. You can add a third or fourth guest at your own expense at prevailing rates, and NCL offers 10% off a second stateroom.

  • CabinThe stateroom category is on the certificate. You can upgrade to a higher category or suite at prevailing rates, but promotional amenities are based on the complimentary category, not the one you upgrade to.
  • A sailing that isn't listedThe certificate has a trade-in value toward itineraries not listed on it. NCL doesn't publish the amount; ask your Casinos At Sea adviser.
  • Household ruleIf two qualified players in the same household each receive a certificate from the same event, the certificates can be combined for one stateroom category upgrade, up to a Club Balcony.
  • When you can sail"Almost anytime (based on availability)." Certain holidays and blackout dates may not be included.
  • ExpiryNCL's certificate page doesn't give a general booking deadline or expiry. Any dates that apply are on your certificate, so check them before you plan around it.
  • CancellingCancelling within 120 days of the sailing date "may constitute forfeiture of your certificate." You may be able to change the booking instead, under Norwegian's usual cancellation rules.
  • NontransferableThe certificate can't be given to someone else, is non-refundable and has no monetary value.

CASNext certificates and offer codes

CASNext is the casino version of a deposit certificate: you spend points on board and the certificate becomes a deposit on a future Norwegian booking. NCL publishes these levels and codes.

PointsCertificate (code)What it does
2,500$125 CASNext Lite (CASLT)A partial deposit toward a stateroom.
5,000$250 CASNext (CASND)The full deposit up to a Club Balcony Suite, or a partial deposit on higher categories.
10,000$500 CASNext Haven (CASNHD)The full deposit on all staterooms.
  • How it reaches your accountYour player account is charged the points and you get a confirmation voucher. After the cruise ends, the certificate is converted to US dollars and added to your Latitudes Rewards account.
  • Using itCall Casinos At Sea at 1-877-474-2965 and tell the agent when you book that you want to apply it. New reservations only, on sailings of 3 days or longer.
  • LimitsUp to eight per person, and one per stateroom, except on sailings in a DoubleUp! (two) or TripleUp! (three) promotion. Norwegian sailings only, not Pride of America.
  • No expiry"CASNext Certificates do not expire." They're non-refundable and non-transferable. If you cancel, the amount goes back to your Latitudes Rewards account minus any cancellation fees.

NCL doesn't publish codes for Points to Paradise or certificate offers. The only casino codes we found are the CASNext codes above and, in Norwegian's Free at Sea terms, a promotion code CASFAS "added under referral code CASUPALL" on casino-booked reservations of 7 nights or longer in Balcony and above. That line sits in the specialty dining terms and isn't explained further. The two CASNext descriptions also differ slightly: the CASNext page says CASND covers the full deposit "up to a Club Balcony Suite", the terms say "up to a Club Balcony".

Booking rules

Norwegian's casino offer terms apply across its casino offers. These are the rules that change how you book.

  • Rated play, 21 and overYou "must be a qualified player with verifiable ratings and at least 21 years of age." Play you don't record with your room key doesn't count.
  • New individual bookingsOffers are for new individual FIT reservations. They don't apply to chartered dates, certain group types, or bookings through NCL's CE or UK offices.
  • Book in US dollars"Casino offer must be booked in USD."
  • NontransferableOffers are non-transferable, non-negotiable, non-refundable and have no monetary value.
  • Cancelling and rebookingCancellation fees apply based on the booking and sailing dates. If you cancel and rebook, you must accept the promotion's terms again, which may have changed.
  • ReferralsA referral booking gets 10% off the cruise fare. It must be on the same ship and sail date, is based on double occupancy, and is valid up to Club Balcony, not Haven or suites.

Free at Sea and other deals

Norwegian's casino terms say that "offer and combinability with other promotional offers are subject to change," so confirm when you book. Here's what the current pages say.

  • Free at Sea"Free at Sea is optional with complimentary cruise fare." Choices must be made at least 24 hours before sailing, can't be changed on board, and can't be substituted or customized. "Additional charges apply."
  • On a certificateNCL's certificate page lists Free at Sea's open bar, specialty dining, excursion credits, Wi-Fi and free extra guests (on select dates), and says "many Norwegian Cruise Line promotions can be combined" with a certificate.
  • Points to ParadiseCan't be combined with other casino offers, but can be combined with CASNext certificates.
  • CASNextCan't be combined with CruiseFirst or CruiseNext coupons unless the booking qualifies for DoubleUp! or TripleUp!.
  • Fare salesNorwegian's general promotion terms have excluded casino upgrades from dollars-off sales (for example, the October 16 to 22, 2026 "Up to $750 Off" offer). Check the terms of any sale you want to add.
  • Partner offers"Each partner promotion or campaign is subject to its own terms and conditions."

Free at Sea extras have their own costs. In Norwegian's promotion terms, the service charges included with Free at Sea Plus "do not cover bar and beverage service charges, specialty dining gratuities, spa services, casino gratuities," and Free at Sea's beverage package needs guests 1 and 2 to be 21 or older.

What you still pay

NCL's casino terms say the "guest is responsible for administration fees ($20 per person per day), government taxes, port expenses and fees," and that "transportation to/from the port and onboard folio charges are not included."

What that means for a 7-night free fare for two

Admin fees of 2 × 7 × $20 = $280 and service charges of another $280 come to $560 before taxes and port fees, or up to $700 if the fuel supplement applies. Our true-cost guide works through this example and compares it with the other lines.

An offer also doesn't change how much you're likely to lose earning the next one. See the economics of casino cruises and the math behind casino games.

Age rules, Oceania and Regent

21 for the program and its offers

You must be at least 21 and show a government-issued photo ID to join Casinos At Sea Rewards, at least 21 to redeem any of its benefits, and at least 21 to buy or use a CASNext certificate. Casino offers need a rated player of 21 or older. You can play in NCL's casinos from 18, as our Norwegian page notes, but that play doesn't lead to these offers.

One program, three lines

Casinos At Sea Rewards covers Norwegian, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Points are used by individual ship, but you can transfer unredeemed points if you sail on another NCL, Oceania or Regent ship within 18 months; transferred points don't count toward your tier. Members also get a stateroom discount on Oceania and Regent, of a varying amount, up to Category A.

The offers on this page are Norwegian's. CASNext certificates are "exclusive to Norwegian Cruise Line sailings," Points to Paradise is redeemed toward "a future Norwegian Cruise Line cruise," and certificates are for Norwegian's ships. NCL doesn't say you can use them on Oceania or Regent. Tiers and earning rates are on our Casinos At Sea Rewards summary.

Before you book

  • Use your room keyPoints to Paradise and certificates depend on rated play. Present your key at every machine and table.
  • Ask at the host deskBefore the last night, ask what your points from this sailing qualify for, and whether spending points on CASNext affects anything else.
  • Watch the 90 daysA Points to Paradise offer must be booked within 90 days and sailed within a year.
  • Ask what the free fare coversConfirm the stateroom category and whether a second guest is included.
  • Price the extras$20 per person per day in admin fees, taxes and port fees, and the daily service charge, for everyone in the cabin.
  • Mind the 120 daysCancelling a certificate booking within 120 days of sailing may cost you the certificate.
  • Keep recordsSave your offer and confirmation, and request a win/loss statement after the cruise for your taxes.

A casino offer has no value until you sail, and the play it takes to earn one can cost more than the offer saves. Set a budget before you board.
