About Slots at Sea

Who publishes this guide to cruise ship casinos, where its information comes from, and how reports from members are checked.

Who runs the site

Slots at Sea is published by Caldrion. It's an independent informational website about the casinos on cruise ships: the games, the rewards programs and what to expect before you sail.

  • IndependentSlots at Sea isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any cruise line. Cruise line, casino and program names are trademarks of their respective owners.
  • No gambling hereThe site doesn't offer gambling. Its calculators and tools only estimate; nothing on the site takes a bet.
  • Play responsiblyOnly play where you're of legal age. If gambling is a problem for you or someone you know, call 1-800-GAMBLER.

How information is researched

Every guide, cruise line page and ship profile lists the sources it was built from, next to the content, with the date each source was published or accessed. Pages also carry a Last checked date showing when the information was last reviewed.

  • The cruise line's own terms first. Where a line publishes its program rules, tiers or casino details, those come first. Other sources fill the gaps.
  • Third-party sources are named. Fan sites, blogs, forums, news articles and player videos are cited by name, and figures that come only from them are labelled as reported.
  • Our own arithmetic is marked. Where a page works something out, such as the expected loss of the play needed for a tier, it says it's our analysis, not a figure from the line.
  • Gaps are left as gaps. If a line doesn't publish something and no reliable source was found, the page says "Not published" rather than guessing.

Casino programs change often, so always confirm details with the cruise line before you sail.

What the labels mean

Ship profiles give each set of casino figures a source-quality label:

Official
From the cruise line.
Mixed
Some figures from the cruise line, others from third parties.
Reported
From third-party sources, not the cruise line.
Not published
The cruise line doesn't publish casino figures for that ship, and no reliable third-party figure was found.

Elsewhere you'll see a Reported flag beside individual claims that come from players or third parties, and the casino accounts guide rates each line's section as high, medium or low confidence, based on how much of it comes from the line's own published terms. Casino layouts change during refits, so treat machine and table counts as a guide.

In the slot library, each game lists two kinds of evidence separately: public reports (dated player videos, articles, reviews and official pages, each with a link) and reports from members.

How member reports are checked

Members can report a slot game they've played on a ship. These rules are built into the site:

  1. Signed-in members only. You need an account with a confirmed email address to send a report.
  2. One report per game, ship and month. A member can't report the same game on the same ship for the same month twice, and the ship has to be chosen from that line's fleet list.
  3. A daily limit. Each member can send up to 20 reports a day.
  4. Notes are reviewed first. A report without a written note is published straight away. A report with a note is held until an editor has reviewed it.
  5. Editors can step in. Editors can approve or reject a held report, and remove any report.
  6. You stay in control. Members can delete their own reports at any time. Published reports show the line, ship, month and note, never the member's name or email.

Member reports are listed apart from public evidence, so you can always see which sightings come from a dated video or article and which come from members.

Corrections

Spotted something out of date or wrong? Corrections are welcome.

  • Slot games on ships: sign in and use "I played this on a cruise" on the game's page in the slot library. Add a note explaining the correction and an editor will review it.
  • Anything else: there's no public email address for corrections yet, and the account area doesn't have a message form. Until it does, signed-in members can name the page and the correction in the note of a slot report: every note is read by an editor before anything is published.
